New Covenant Emergency Food Bank & Family Services was founded in 2008 by Letoa. It began with the desire of a generous couple to help people, gathering food and basic need items in their own garage to distribute to families in need. They started serving
Due to a rising need in the community New Covenant Emergency Food Bank & Family Services was forced to add additional mobile feeding sites over the years. In the beginning the focus was on sustaining the local Sacramento communities, In 2010 New Covenant Emergency Food Bank & Family Services opened its doors to directly serve local families through mobile distribution-they were able to add 4 new locations.
New Covenant continues to grow each year, meeting the needs of thousands of families in Sacramento County and abroad.
We had started a program that gave food out on Fridays, we average about 30 individuals. Than we made a change to Wednesday. Over the months, as the amount of food substantially increasingly, we moved from 30 individuals to over 250 families on the first month.
